Government Projects

One of the constant types of construction that Burke Electric has been involved in is Government Construction Projects. Since 1958, our firm has worked on projects for many government agencies including the USBR, US Army Corps of Engineers, Bonneville Power Administration and the Western Area Power Administration.


Mud Mountain Dam, Intake Structure Replacement- Enumclaw, WA

This project consisted of the installation of a 12.47kV Underground Power System, including the rebuild of the Powerhouse Switchgear and conversion of the existing 55kV Transmission Line to 12.47kV.

Installed Value: $1,810,000.00

VA Hospital American Lake Switchgear & Generator Installation- Lakewood, WA

This project included concrete foundation additions, installation of a 750kW diesel generator, (3) sections of 13.8kV switchgear additions, (2) 13.8kV 5MVA transformers and a new generator breaker that was synchronized to an existing generator. Underground ductbanks, 5 & 15kV cable and an outdoor enclosure were additionally installed. This project required an extensive outage and cutover schedule.
